Sensitization program on combating child trafficking held at Mon

Mon: A One Day District Level Sensitization Programme as part of “Combating Child Trafficking” on 10th August 2022 organized

National Commissioner for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) in collaboration with District Administration Mon, organized a One Day District Level Sensitization Programme as part of “Combating Child Trafficking” on 10th August 2022 at the Conference Hall of the Office of DC Mon, in commemoration of “World Day against Human Trafficking”, under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

In his address, DC Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS stressed the importance of the role of the society and all the stakeholders to provide a conducive environment for the children as well as to help and assist the authorities to tackle the traffickers.

He stated that children were the foundation of society and that utmost care and concern should be provided for their right upbringing.

Resource persons, SP Mon, Imnalensa, IPS, and Consultant, NCPCR, Kapil Sharma provided a presentation on Preventing Child Trafficking where they both highlighted the various ways of trafficking, laws covering protection of the children, and objectives and goals of various bodies created by the government to tackle the issue.

Imnalensa further challenged the gathering to look into the issue from the scope of Nagaland and not as an issue prevalent only outside the State.

The program was chaired by District Welfare Officer, Y. Tauhong Ngonyen and concluded after an open house discussion.
