A 13-member delegation led by ENPO President Tsapikiu Sangtam, landed in New Delhi on 28th September 2023 to hold talks on the ENPO demand with Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Home Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
The 13-member delegation comprising of ENPO officials, ENPO Talk Team, Eastern Nagaland Women Organisation (ENWO) and Eastern Nagaland students Federation (ENSF) will convene a meeting on 30th September at noon under the Chairmanship of Ajay Kumar Bhalla.
Earlier, the MHA had informed ENPO during their talks that a new model of the country will be implemented in Eastern Nagaland and if it is successful then the said model will also be replicated in other parts of the country.
The proposed administrative arrangement will have 40 elected members and nine nominated members by the Governor. The proposed administrative arrangement will have legislative, executive and financial autonomy.

Sources claimed that the Government of India has also agreed to bring 45 departments under the new administrative structure and a separate secretariat will be established in the Eastern region. Further, sources confirmed that as soon as the Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) is signed, an interim body will be constituted for one year.
Mention maybe made that KG Kenye, Power Minister and Government Spokesperson had notified that tripartite talks will begin soon. Further, Kenye had stated that “suggestions are pouring in that any nomenclature given for the Eastern people should consider the word ‘Nagaland’ and not ‘Naga’.”
