The ‘Family Welfare’ division under the auspices of the 14 NAP (IR) Battalion organised a police outreach medical camp in Okhe village, Kiphire District, on the 7th September 2023, DIPR informed.
The Commandant, Dr. H. Mukem Shio, addressing the attendees, emphasized the importance of living in peace and harmony with one’s neighbours, quoting “Love your neighbor as yourself.” He also informed the villagers about the benefits available through the Unit Subsidiary Canteen. Expressing concern about the escalating issue of drug abuse, he urged the village elders to take decisive action to curb drug abuse and alcoholism in the area.
As a gesture of goodwill, the 14 IR Bn also donated a set of public address system equipment to the Okhe Village Baptist Church.
Head GB Tsathrongse expressed his happiness at the organization of the medical camp and commended the 14 NAP (IR) Bn for their consistent humanitarian support to his village.
14 NAP (IR) Dy. Comdt. (QM) Velule Tureng highlighted the significance and functioning of ‘Family Welfare’ within the Police Department. Dr. Tamjenmongba, the Senior Medical Officer (SMO), encouraged the villagers to prioritize physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle. He also raised awareness about the increasing cases of Dengue disease and Eye Conjunctivitis.
More than a hundred people benefited from medical check-ups and received medicines during the program.
