An Educational Fair organised by the Kohima Village Students Union (KVSU) was held on October 5 at the Kohima Village Council hall in Kohima.
The event Is aimed at offering students suitable platforms to pursue their dreams, informed Convenor Albert Seluokuolie Rutsa. Emphasizing on the importance of guiding students towards the right path, Rutsa pointed out that many students are often unsure about their career choices after completing their class 10 and 12 exams. Thus, the fair hoped to provide the necessary direction for students to make informed decisions about their future.
Catering to students in need of financial assistance, the Fair also set up stalls with various banks. With the positive response and participation from students, Rutsa said, we are considering expanding our program. He stated that

During the event, Keneisezo Belho, Proprietor of “Kenbel,” shared his inspiring journey of starting his business with a meager amount of Rs. 2300. Belho embarked on an eco-conscious entrepreneurial path by introducing Kenbel Pencils in Nagaland. Belho’s childhood passion for business and his dream of creating his own pencil brand sparked the innovative idea of crafting eco-friendly pencils using recycled newspaper prints. He also motivated students by encouraging them to fearlessly dream big and start small, emphasizing that dedicated hard work can lead any small business to significant growth.
Keneisalie Rutsa, a 10th-grade student at Christ King Higher Secondary School, shared his testimony of turning his hobby of basket weaving into a means of livelihood at a young age. He discussed how individuals can use their skills to build a solid foundation for their own future, while also earning income to alleviate the financial burden on their parents, which he considers a significant blessing.

Thejangunuo Linyü, the owner of Linyü Accessories, a locally made jewelry business from Kohima village, shared her experience of starting her own jewelry line with her sister and persevering through various challenges and difficulties. She emphasized the significance of consistency and patience in maintaining a successful business. “Having faith in the Lord and working hard have been instrumental in my current achievements,” said Linyü.

The program was chaired by Vilalhou Sorhie, President KVSU. Dr. Mhalevilie Sote, Associate Pastor at BRC Kohima, blessed the program with an invocation while Prakash Jason Nayak, CEO of Eduversity Group, delivered an exhortation on Career Mentorship.
The Educational Fair witnessed the participation of 20 schools and an attendance of 1500 students. 31 stalls from diverse institutional backgrounds, featuring fields like artificial intelligence, coaching, music etc were set up at the Educational Fair. This platform offered a valuable opportunity for students to explore career options not only within Kohima but also outside the State and Country.
