Nito Theological College held its 15th Graduation ceremony at Nito Mount Centre Church, Zunheboto district on Thursday with Dr. Joshua Lorin, Principal, Oriental Theological Seminary Dimapur as the guest speaker.
Dr. Lorin, speaking on the occasion, lauded the graduates for their hard work and perseverance and having made through the academic course.
He mentioned that in the Old Testament, in the book of Micah, the Lord required from humans to act justly, love mercy and to walk humbly with the Lord. He said that the need of the hour for those who are called for ministry is to engage in the prophetic ministry of the Church.
The Principal of OTS lamented that the present Naga society is wriggled with social justice, economic inequalities, communal conflict between villages, families and clans, environmental crisis, human rights violations, and taxation. He also mentioned drug use by school children and stated that Christian identity of the Nagas has been deformed.
Dr. Lorin therefore stressed that it was the duty of the ‘called’ to not only focus on what will come after life but also in the present context.
Dr. Niholi Sema, in her address, congratulated the graduates and quoted Isaac Newton: “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants” adding that for the graduates, the Governing Board of NTC were the giants on whose shoulders they stood.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Kito S. Assistant Professor NTC; the invocation was pronounced by Rev. Kughato Chophi, Executive Secretary, Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu (SBAK) Nito Mount; Kakugha Rotokha, Chairman, Governing Board NTC released the annual magazine; special song was presented by NTC choir and benediction was pronounced by Mughatoli, Asst Professor, NTC.
