The 1st Edition of Lt. Toshi Wungtong Memorial Football Tournament kicked off in Shamator town as the 2nd zonal Tournament on October 10. The first Zonal Tournament was held at Chessore town, where Kuthuru Village was declared as the winner under Chessore Zone.

Solumba Yimkhiung, former president of Yimkhiung Akherü Arihako (YAA) and Vice-President Shamator District Football Association (SDFA) exhorted the players about the importance of football and shared that  all the football tournaments organising within the district should get prior approval from the respective district Football Association.

He also requested all the players to register in CRS as per the AIFF/NFA rules, and encouraged the players to have team spirit, discipline and hard work not only during the tournament season but also in everyday life as a footballer.
