Noklak: Student bodies recognize harmful impact of illegal drug activities

The 1st General Session of the All Pangsha Students’ Union (APSU) was held at its HQ. ITC Dan, Noklak District from 18th to 20th December 2024 under the theme “Transcend & Transform”.

During the Session, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 20th December 2024 between All Pangsha Students Union, Tobu Area Students’ Union and Naga Students’ Organisation (Myanmar) for maintaining strong relationship as one Brotherhood and for peaceful coexistence, the APSU informed in an official statement.

The MoU signed between the unions states:

Collectively referred to as mutual goal for fostering cooperation and recognizing the importance of enhancing relationship and peace, ensuring free movement, and combating illegal activities that threaten societal harmony, the Parties agree as follows:

  1. Free Movement:

The three organization strongly condemns the scrapping of FMR and strongly oppose the proposed border fencing in our jurisdiction. We agreed to uphold and enhance the existing Free Movement to ensure the existence of brotherhood. We shall not impose barrier that may hinder the mutual benefits of free movement.

We also agreed that no restriction of movement shall be impose within the East-West stretch of Naga areas considering the brotherhood relationship of Nagas as a whole.

  1. Joint Venture on Developmental activities:

To work and extend cooperation for enhancement of developmental activities from all the three parties.

  1. To keep on check against any illegal activities:

We recognize the harmful impact of illegal drug activities and commit to cooperate in eradicating anti-social activities. We also agree to protect eco environment and address accordingly.

  1. ITC Dan, a Peace Zone:

We all assure to maintain International Trade Centre (ITC) Dan as a PEACE ZONE for better benefit concerning all the Parties. Any organization trying to abrogate the peace zone shall be condemned.
