The Northern Angami Christian Revival Youth Fellowship is organising the 1st NACRYF Futsal Tournament at L Viluo FIFA Pro Turf at Vilietsa, Meriema. The three-day event was kicked off on 25th April and will conclude on Saturday.
Dr Keneilhoulie Medom, MD Anaesthesiologist, Kohima Hospital, graced the inaugural ceremony as the Chief Guest where he highlighted the prevalence of substance abuse among the youth in today’s society. He emphasised importance of using sports as a positive outlet to steer away from destructive habits and embrace a healthier lifestyle.
Dr Medom described the tournament as not only as a sporting event but also as an opportunity for participants to transform themselves into better individuals through sports.
The first match was played between Khrietho FC and CYE, CRC Dihoma.
Program coordinator Pelevotuo Solo mentioned that through the 1st NACRYF Futsal Tournament, they aim to encourage sports and also bring the youth together. “Every contribution is for God’s glory, be it financial or taking part as a player,” he said.
