The first ever Shamator District Volleyball Tournament organised by the Shamator District Volleyball Association (SDVA) began today.

The two-day tournament will continue until Thursday, 1 December.

The programme was graced by R Tohanba, ex-MLA and State Executive Member BJP Nagaland. He encouraged the players to have the utmost discipline and sportsmanship.

Yanhokiu, president of Shamator Public Forum, and L Shahoto Yimkhiung, vice chairman of the Shamator District Sports Council, also encouraged the participants.

A welcome note was delivered by K Yaksokiu, SDVA President, while the oath taking was led by T Throngsomong, Team Manager SDVA.

The compere of the programme was Hantsula Thsanso. The invocation was delivered by Rev Thsankiu, Pastor STBC.
