The first Shamator District Volleyball Tournament organised by the Shamator District Volleyball Association concluded on 2 December at Public Ground, Shamator

Chessore village lifted the winner’s trophy, receiving a cash prize of Rs 40,000 along with certificates and the trophy.  Sotokur village were the runners-up.

Superintendent of Police Shamator Amit Kumar, IPS, graced the Closing Ceremony as the special guest. Stating that Sports unite all, he lauded the participants for coming from all parts of the district and appreciating the beauty of the game.

Altogether, 18 teams from different villages, towns and clubs participated in the tournament.

Four prizes for individual performances were also presented:

Best Libero – Lato, Pungrungrü village

Best Lifter – B Zungkum, Chassir village

Best Spiker –Yimto, Sotokur village

Player of the Tournament –Shihoto, Chessore village
