The 2024 Sachü Scholarship was awarded today to four students of Kohima Village. The event was held at the Kohima Village Council (KVC) hall in Kohima Village.
The Awardees were Kikrukhrienuo Vizo (Khedi Baptist Higher Secondary School ), Dzieseneinuo Belho (Christ King Higher Secondary School), Kevitshulie Keretsü (Baptist High), Thepfukuolie Mere (Government Middle School P.Khel. )The Sachü Scholarship Award, presented by The Miraculum Society Nagaland, is a tribute to the late Tuozo Sachü and late Neituonuo Sachü. It aims to honors individuals who have demonstrated exceptional academic excellence, involvement in extracurricular activities, and outstanding overall performance. This award is presented to one student from each of the four Units of the KVSU, highlighting the most deserving candidates.
Suosahie Sachü, the President of the Sachü Clan, delivered a brief speech, encouraging the awardees to use the scholarship to further their academic pursuits and to become responsible members of society.
Vikuonuo Sachü, the CEO of The Miracullum Society Nagaland and Proprietor of The Creative Children’s Centre in Noklak, spoke about the Sachü Scholarship, emphasizing the legacy of kindness and compassion passed down to her by her grandparents. She explained that the scholarship program was established with the humble vision of supporting students who are dedicated to excelling in their education, not only to succeed in life, but to contribute positively to society. The scholarship aims to recognize students facing challenges in their lives who are nonetheless driven to achieve their aspirations, mentioned Sachü.
She expressed her hope that through their initiative, we could assist those in need while also inspiring and supporting students to realize that the sky’s the limit for those who believe. Coming from a humble background, she shared that her grandparents, Lt. Tuozo Sachü and Lt. Neithonuo Sachü, never compromised on the value of education. This scholarship serves to honor her grandparents, who instilled in them love, compassion, and a strong work ethic. The recipients of the scholarship were chosen based on their academic performance, involvement in extracurricular activities, and commitment to the Kohima Village Night School.

It had been informed that currently, there are four (4) Night Schools in the village designed to provide education and learning opportunities to students, offering free tuition regardless of their backgrounds. Throughout the past year, a variety of activities have been organized to allow students to explore their talents and gain new experiences. These programs include literary events, Teacher’s Day and Children’s Day celebrations, movie nights, exposure trips, and personality development activities. In addition, meritorious awards such as Best Student and Best Teacher of the year 2023 were presented in the previous year. The enrollment at each Night School averages between 80-100 students, with the programs kicking off as soon as the schools reopen.
The awardees of the scholarship will exemplify these qualities, making them deserving recipients of this prestigious scholarship.
Seluokuolie Rutsa, the General Secretary of KVSU, expressed gratitude to The Miraculum Society Nagaland on behalf of the Kohima Village Students Union (KVSU) for their dedication to promoting education and empowering deserving students to reach their academic aspirations. He emphasized that the Sachü Scholarship Award serves as a testament to their commitment to recognizing and supporting exceptional individuals.
