New Market FC and Bucaneers FC emerge as the winners on Thursday at the ongoing 22nd NSF Martyr’s Memorial Trophy at IG Stadium.
New Market FC vs Go Live FC
The first match of the day was played between New Market FC and Go Live FC.
New Market FC won the match 9 goals to nil.
Rhitso Mero (jersey no 14) of New Market FC scored a double hat-trick with six goals at the 16th, 21st, 34th, 36th, 53rd and 90th minute. He has scored nine goals in the tournament so far, making him the highest scorer.
Neisede Peseyie (jersey no 6), Petevizo Kezieo (jersey no 7) and Gideon Leo (jersey no 99) added a goal each for their team at the 38th, 59th and 83rd minute.
Neisede Peseyie was adjudged Man of the Match. The award was handed by NSF MMT organising committee co-convenor, Kezhangulie Kirekhanuo.
Kelhoukevira FC vs Bucaneers FC
The second match witnessed a head- to-head match between Kelhoukevira FC and Bucaneers FC.
Rajuvikuo Khawakhrie (jersey no 7) of Kelhoukevira FC netted a beautiful goal at the 15th minute, which was equalized by Amesi (jersey no 11) at the 48th minute.
Until the last minute both teams were logged in a 1-1 draw. The match was decided through a tie break which went in favour of Bucaneers FC (3-1).
The Man of the Match was awarded to Mhieneizotuo Lhousa of Kelhoukevira FC. The award was handed by Dziesebei-ü Vizo, Administrator, IG Stadium, Kohima.
