The H&FW Department of Longleng organized the Ayushman Bhava Health Mela on 23rd September 2023 at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Yachem, DIPR said in a report. A total of 230 individuals availed themselves of the services, and complimentary medications were also distributed during the event, it further said.

In addition to health check-ups, the Mela included a Multi-Speciality Health Mela, Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) activities, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), VDRL testing, screening for Non-Communicable Diseases (Cancer, Diabetes, Hypertension, etc.), TB screening, Leprosy evaluation, HIV counseling and testing, Hepatitis testing, Eye screening, OST Induction, and the issuance of Ayushman Cards.

In his keynote address, Dr Tiasunep, CMO Longleng, emphasized the significance of the Ayushman Bhava campaign and highlighted upcoming departmental activities. Dr Tiasunep also sensitized attendees about Dengue and Conjunctivitis.

Brief speeches were delivered by Isakumba, VCC Yachem, and Likok, VCC Yaongyimchen. Kum.S Chingmei, EAC Yachem, expressed gratitude to the Government of India, the Government of Nagaland, and H&FW for organizing the Ayushman Bhava Health Mela at CHC Yachem. She acknowledged the various healthcare services provided and the promotion of health awareness.

Earlier, the event was chaired by Chubalemla, GNM, CHC Yachem and commenced with an invocation by Rev. Adao, Pastor YBC while Dr James, MO Yachem, delivered a welcoming address. The program concluded with a benediction by Rev. Lakba, Pastor NBC.
