23rd Edition of Hornbill Music Festival launched

Tadashi Asuzuma, Executive Vice President Toyota Kirloskar Motors and Noubaki Yahiro Managing Director, Toyota Tusho along with Vikram Gulati, Executive Vice President at Toyota Kirloskar Motors and officials from Toyota sounded the Inauguration Gong of the 23rd Edition of Hornbill Music Festival, the biggest music festival of India today here at the Naga Heritage, Main Arena, Kisama.

The Hornbill Music Festival also observed one minute silence to pay respect and homage to Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt Ltd Vice Chairman Vikram S Kirloskar who passed away on 29 November.

Late Kirloskar was scheduled to officially launch the Hornbill Music Festival which is being presented by Toyota.

Vikram Gulati, Executive Vice President at Toyota Kirloskar Motors, addressing the launch programme of the 23rd edition of Hornbill Music Festival stated that through their association, Toyota Kirloskar Motors wishes to promote values of preserving and enhancing the uniqueness and richness of local culture and heritage.

He added that another fascinating element about the Northeast is its scenic beauty, rich biodiversity and the wonderful tradition of living in harmony with nature, to which he said, this strongly resonates with their company’s core value of “Respect for the Planet”.

He highlighted that Toyota’s manufacturing facilities near Bangalore have more than 100 acres of plantation with more than 3,25,000 trees which includes 600 native species.

“We have also created an eco-experiential and learning centre for children spread over 25 acres with 17 theme parks within our plant. This facility is aimed at creating the environment champions of the future so as to usher in desired behavioural change in the communities,” added Gulati.

He also said the company is committed to provide cleaner and greener products so as to help mitigate carbon emissions.

He remarked that the Northeast region holds very significant value to the company and to provide an awesome experience to their valued customers, it has established 14 customers touch points, regional Stock Yard and Parts Centre exclusively catering to the needs across the Northeast region.

Furthermore, he said in order to provide job opportunities, a skill enhancement initiative under Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP), in collaboration with Nagaland Tool-Room & Training Centre (NTTC) & Okusa Toyota, was launched in Dimapur in September this year.

With this, so far, we have joined hands with four institutes across Northeast India. Going forward, we plan to further expand this initiative, he added.

Furthermore, he said they will also be expanding their network to provide ever better products and services to address the growing consumer needs in this region.
