25-year-old Meguolekho Kiewhuo filed his nomination papers to contest in the forthcoming Municipal/Town Council election from Ward no.6 of Chiephobozou Town. DIPR informed that the young Independent candidate filed his papers on Monday before the ARO, EAC Ane Khieya and Returning Officer, ADC Alemyapang Longchar (NCS).
With just one day to go before the window for candidates to file their papers, well over 100 candidates from across the Nagaland furnished their papers on Monday.
In WOKHA TOWN, 20 Candidates filed for nomination for the Town Council before RO and ADC, Wokha, K Furhesie Nyuwi.
Following are the names and party of the candidates.
Y Renthunglo Kikon (NDPP), K Lidemo Murry (NDPP), N Elon Tungoe (NPP), Grace Murry (NDPP), Y Elabemo Kinghen (NDPP), N Grace Murry (NDPP), Nyanbeni Ezung (BJP), Nzanbeni Humtsoe (NDPP), Khozamo Lotha (NDPP), E Zuthungpemo Ezung (NDPP), Thungchano Kikon (NDPP), Hapenthung P Ezung (NDPP), Limathung (NDPP), K Chumchano Kikon (BJP), T Chonthungo Lotha (BJP), Nzano P Kikon (BJP), Rhukumo Kikon (BJP), T Nzanthung Ngullie (BJP), Thungchanbemo Lotha (INC) and Mhomo Humtsoe (IND).
In KOHIMA, 31 candidates filed nominations for elections to Kohima Municipal Council on 10th of June 2024, DIPR has said. Among them were 1 candidate from INC, 16 candidates from NDPP, 9 candidates from NPP, and 5 Independent candidates.
Meanwhile in MOKOKCHUNG, the Additional Deputy Commissioner has informed that 55 candidates filed nominations on 10th June 2024.
- Mokokchung Municipal Council: 29
- Mangkolemba Town Council: 12
- Tuli Town Council: 10
- Changtongya Town Council: 4
The last date for fining nominations is tomorrow, 11th June 2024. Nominations will be received up to 3:00 pm.
Candidates filed for nominations in other districts also, such as DIMAPUR, CHÜMOUKEDIMA, ZUNHEBOTO, TSEMINYU AND PHEK.
Filing of nomination papers for ULB election to Chozuba Town Council began on 10th June 2024 at the office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner & Returning Officer, Chozuba, Phek. Chozuba will be holding the first Town Council Election along with the rest of the state on 26th June 2024.
