In a momentous occasion for the community, Longlam village under Mon district witnessed the coronation of Wangtun Wanmei as its new Angh (chief) on the June 10. At just 25 years of age, Wanmei has become the youngest Angh in Longlam’s recorded history, and is said to be among the youngest Anghs in Konyak area.

Chief Angh of Wangla, Leiwang: Hongphoi Angh, Manto; Lapa Angh, Tinwang; and  Oting Angh, Tahwang spoke during the coronation ceremony.  Peiwang Konyak exhorted the gathering, and Pastor LBC, Phuhlem blessed the installation ceremony of the new Angh.

The event was attended by the villagers and Anghs of neighbouring villages and concluded with a community feast.
