25th All India Police Band Competition 2024 concludes

The 25th All India Police Band Competition came to a triumphant close today, celebrating the dedication, precision, and musical talent of Police Bands from across the country. The event highlighted the importance of Police Bands in fostering unity, discipline and morale within the force, while also strengthening bonds with communities through the universal language of music, informed a press release.

The closing ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM Director General Assam Rifles, along with other esteemed dignitaries Rathod Vineet Kumar, IPS , representative of Chairman of All India Police Sports Control Board. In his address, Deputy Inspector General of Assam Rifles Training Centre and School Shokhuvi, Brigadier Raman Sharma, Sena Medal emphasized the significance of Police Bands, not only as symbols of honour and tradition but as powerful means to inspire and uplift both  personnels and the public alike.

This competition featured impressive performances from teams representing various Police units, each showcasing their unique musical abilities, teamwork and dedication to excellence. After several days of intense and inspiring competition,Assam Rifles was declared the overall winner in men’s category, while Rajasthan Police was declared the overall winner in women’s category. The well-deserved first position in Men’s Brass Band category went to Assam Rifles. Second and third positions were secured by Maharashtra Police and CRPF respectively. In Women’s Brass Band category, first and runner up positions were secured by SSB and CISF, respectively. In Men’s pipe Band category, First position was secured by Assam Rifles, second and third positions were secured by CRPF and Maharashtra Police respectively.

In women’s category, first Rajasthan Police secured First position. Assam Rifles and Chhattisgarh secured second and third positions respectively. The Bugler team of Maharashtra secured first position. The second and third positions were secured by Assam Rifles and Andhra Pradesh respectively.  All teams displayed remarkable skill and passion, setting a high standard for future competitions.

The event was organized by Assam Rifles Training Centre & School, Shokhuvi with meticulous attention to detail, providing a platform for bands to perform at their best and offering everyone an unforgettable musical experience. The competition has once again underscored the role of Police Bands in promoting unity, discipline and community connection.

The 25th All India Police Band Competition 2024 concluded on a high note, serving as a powerful reminder of the role music plays in bringing people together, bridging divides, and fostering a shared sense of pride and camaraderie.
