26 armed cadres of Myanmar based NSCN-K led by Brigadier Pholai Ponglaham joins NSCN-R under the leadership of President Y Wangtin Naga and Ato Kilonser P Tikhak, the Ministry of Information & Public Relations, NSCN-R (Reformation) said in a press release on Thursday.

The ministry’s Secretary also mentioned that before this shift, Brigadier Ponglaham was also the Chairman of Wancho Region, NSCN-K. It conveyed the leaders’ happiness over the development and stated, “The collective leaders warmly welcome them and also promised to give them all kind of support to bring lasting peace in all the Naga areas and in particular in Wancho Region.”

NSCN-R also said that during the welcome program organised for the 26 cadres, the senior cadres expressed their concerns over the divisions within Naga groups and condemned “mindless killing among the Naga brothers”. They also reaffirmed their confidence in Y Wangtin Naga, Tikhak and also the Government of India in bringing lasting peace in the Naga areas.
