The Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) has officially released the fixture list for its upcoming 27th edition of the football league, following a draw conducted on October 6 at the residence of the MDFA Treasurer. The tournament is set to begin on October 14 at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung and will conclude with the final match on October 25.
A total of 11 teams will participate, divided into three pools of three teams each and one pool with two teams.
Pool A features defending champions Konyak Students Union Mokokchung (KSUM) alongside Sports Society Soyim and Team Gilgal. In Pool B, Telongjem FC, Super Seniors FC, and Intermincle Club will vie for knockout stage spots. Pool C comprises Thunder Bolt FC, NU Lumami, and Doyang Strikers MKG, while Pool D includes Chargers FC and Sampang SC. League matches will be held from October 14 to 18, with multiple fixtures scheduled each day.
Quarterfinals will take place on October 20 and 21, followed by the semifinals on October 22 and 23.
The final is scheduled for Saturday, October 25 at 1:00 PM. The top teams from each pool along with the runners-up will progress to the knockout rounds, ensuring competitive matchups throughout the tournament.

Strikers, MKG and others, the tournament promises quality football and aims to bring the true football vibe to the spectators. For the past 27 years, the MDFA League has remained a vital platform for showcasing local football talent in Mokokchung district, nurturing several sports personalities. Alongside other tournaments organized in the district, it continues to play a key role in developing and promoting football at the grassroots level. This year’s MDFA Tournament will feature a total prize pool of ₹3.75 lakh and, for the first time, will be governed by the MDFA Tournament Bye-laws. The champion team will receive ₹2,00,000 along with the
MDFA Trophy, while the runners-up will be awarded ₹1,00,000 along with the Late Nokzar Ao Trophy.
The two losing semi-finalists will each receive ₹25,000. Additionally, five individual awards—Best
Goalkeeper, Best Defender, Best Midfielder, Highest Goal Scorer, and Player of the Tournament—each carry a cash prize of ₹5,000 with citations. For the first time in the history of the MDFA Trophy, all participating teams will also be given an honorarium. MDFA officials highlighted that the introduction of the tournament bye-laws marks a significant step toward promoting discipline, professionalism, and accountability. The new bye-laws comprehensively define the roles and responsibilities of the participating teams, organizers, and technical staff, ensuring the smooth and transparent conduct of the competition.
