The 29th Annual General Conference of Society for Naga Students’ Welfare Kerala (SNSWK) concluded on September 13at Mar Thoma Higher Secondary School, Kottayam. The event was attended by over 200 delegates representing different districts of Kerala.
The programme began with a formal session that featured words of encouragement, reflection, and
thanksgiving. Advocate Chandy Oommen, Member of Legislative Assembly, attended as the Chief Guest.
In his address, he commended the Naga student community for their unity, culture, and contributions, while encouraging them to remain diligent in their academic pursuits and stay rooted in their traditions.
On the occasion, he also donated a 5 cents plot measuring 50×40 sq. ft. in Kottayam to the Society.
Cultural presentations formed a significant part of the day’s proceedings, with students performing traditional dances and showcasing Naga heritage. These performances highlighted the importance of preserving cultural identity even while living away from home. Alongside, informal sessions provided space for fellowship, interaction, and strengthening ties among members and well-wishers.
SNSWK extended its gratitude to the Naga Pensioners’ Association for its continued guidance and encouragement, noting their support as a constant source of strength to the younger generation. The
Society also thanked special invitees, leaders, and delegates whose presence contributed to the success of the conference.

In a special acknowledgment, SNSWK expressed appreciation to Temjenmoa Jamir, Director of Fitzroy
Energy and Minerals Limited & Nagaland Ethanol Private Limited, and S Andes Konyak, former Commissioner of Nagaland, for their generous financial contributions which played a vital role in enabling the conference.
The Society also noted with gratitude the contributions of many unnamed friends, supporters, and well-wishers who extended assistance in various ways.
According to the organizers, the 29th Annual General Conference was not only a platform for academic reflection and cultural exchange but also a reaffirmation of unity among the Naga students in Kerala.
The Society stated that the event stands as a testimony of faith and collective effort, while offering thanks to Almighty God for His guidance and provision.
