CHIEF SECRETARY LED MASS CLEANLINESS DRIVE IN KOHIMA
In an effort to prepare for the upcoming festive season, a mass social work initiative was organized across Kohima and other parts of Nagaland on 22nd November 2024. The state wide effort emphasized cleaning roads, drainage systems, government offices, and surrounding areas.
In Kohima, the cleanliness drive witnessed active participation from various sectors of society, led by Chief Secretary Nagaland, Dr. J Alam, IAS, Heads of Departments, government officers, and staff joined hands to ensure the success of the initiative. Dr. Alam actively participated in the mass social work where he joined the officers and staff of the Nagaland Civil Secretariat, who were assigned the area from Sanuorü Bridge to Directorate of IT&C.
Earlier, Dr. Alam also inspected various locations across the State capital. Organizations such as the All Nagaland Taxi Association Kohima and the Lhisemia Youth Organisation, alongside residents from different colonies, lent their support.
Apart from public areas, office premises were beautified, shops and business establishment were whitewashed with a focus on maintaining cleanliness in common spaces, including toilets, parking lots, and pathways.
Later, the Chief Secretary of Nagaland visited the Naga Heritage Village, Kisama, to inspect the on-going construction works. During his visit, he reviewed all construction sites and inspected the parking area. Dr. Alam also held discussions with the contractor and officials from various departments, emphasizing the need for the timely completion of the projects.
ZUNHEBOTO:
In connection with the festive season and a state government proposed state-wide mass social work, a mass cleanliness drive was conducted at Zunheboto district on 22nd November 2024, where Government offices, private institutions, ZTC, business establishments, colonies and the general public actively participated across Zunheboto district headquarter and subdivisions.
CHUMOUKEDIMA:
In preparation for the 25th edition of the Hornbill Festival, a mass social work by all the Government Offices under Chumoukedima district was conducted on 22nd of November, 2024. The mass social work commenced from 9 am onwards.
The mass social work focus on the following priority areas along Dimapur to Kohima National Highway-1st Gate, Chate Bridge, Chumoukedima, Unity Gate, Patkai College Junction and Old Chate River Steel Bridge.
Active participation from DC, ADC and all the Government offices under Chumoukedima district came forward and participated at the mass social work drive making it a success.
PEREN:
Mass Social work was conducted in Peren district on 22nd November 2024. The mass social work was held in view of the upcoming festive season, with the aim to foster a sense of unity and responsibility among all the citizens towards a cleaner and healthier Peren district. The social work was led by the district administration while all the other departments mobilised their department staffs and actively participated in the mass social work. The public of Peren district too actively participated in cleaning of common areas such as toilets, parking lots, and pathways and areas surrounding important places.
The mass social work in Peren district was successfully conducted with full cooperation by the general public.
TUENSANG:
Mass Social work was conducted at Tuensang Town on 22nd November 2024. All the Government Employees, wards and Business Establishment participate in cleaning of drainage and collection of garbage from Tuensang Town.
NIULAND:
In view of the upcoming festive season, the entire Niuland district held a mass social work on 22 November 2024, with the active participation from all the government employees, Niuland Town Council, Urban Station Committee of Kuhuboto & Khaghaboto, Wards of town & Sub-Division, villages, NGOs and general public.
WOKHA:
The second phase of the mass social work was conducted throughout Wokha District along with the other districts of Nagaland on November 22, 2024.
All government departments as well as public and private organizations actively participated in the social work. Villages and residential areas situated along national and state highways were also engaged in the social work by clearing vegetation and debris along the highways.
MON:
In pursuance to the directive of the state Government, the 2nd phase of mass social work was conducted at Mon Town on 22nd November 2024, with active participation from all the Government offices, institutions, business establishments and the general public starting from 7:00 am. This cleanliness drive was conducted as part of the preparation for the festive season.
MEDZIPHEMA:
In view of the upcoming festive season a mass social work was conducted at Medziphema sub-division on 22nd November 2024.
The mass social work commenced from 7 am onwards, prioritizing to all roads, Government offices, Parking lots, Pathways, Market Areas Dividers.
With the active participation from District Administration, Medziphema Town Council, Government Departments, NGOs, and the general public from all Medziphema wards and villages, the mass social work was a big success
