A 3-day training for Social Audit at SIRD Kohima for Samagra Shiksha Nagaland commenced on Wednesday. The Audit is to be carried out in a phase-manner. In the first phase, the Samagra Shiksha Nagaland is to cover 403 schools starting from August 2023.
Imlitoshi I. Jamir, Director Nagaland State Social Audit Agency (NSSA) extended a welcome address and spoke on the various aspects of social auditing and also appreciated Samagra Shiksha for initiating the social audit process.
Temsunaro Aier, IAS State Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, spoke on the importance of conducting Social Audit as per the directive of Ministry of Education, Government of India. She lauded the NSSA for accepting the task to conduct a Social Audit for Samagra Shiksha during 2023-24. She urged the auditor to carry out responsibility with utmost sincerity while visiting schools so as to bring out actual ground reports of various interventions initiated by Samagra Shiksha Nagaland. She also spoke on the need of transparency and accountability at every level to ensure that delivery of service is made to the last mile as per the objectives of the programme.
Power point presentations were made by Dr. Kevizakie Rio, Joint Mission Director, Dr. Bijano Murry, Joint Mission Director, Dr. Chumbeni Kikon, Joint Mission Director, Kelhikha Kenye, Deputy Mission Director and Nuchyi, Programme Manager (Accounts) from Samagra Shiksha as resource persons on various activities implemented by Samagra Shiksha Nagaland. Altogether, 52 participants attended the programme.
