Superintendent of Police (SP) Wokha, . Relo Aye, informed that a 31-year-old man, identified as Nzanthung Enny, from Humtso Village was found dead at a stone quarry in the Longsa village area on August 9. Burn marks were visible on his face, body and leg.
Preliminary inquiry suggests that the victim came into contact with a live electric wire. The SP stated that the police received information at around 11:15 a.m., following which a team was immediately dispatched to the site. The victim was declared dead on the spot.
It was further informed that the family declined to conduct a post-mortem examination, after which the body was handed over to them for the last rites.
