The 35+ Mokokchung Football League (MFL) on February 14 felicitated the Mokokchung District Veteran Football Association (MDVFA) for winning the 13th Nagaland Veteran Football Tournament. The felicitation programme was held at Aoer Café, Mokokchung.

The Mokokchung veterans clinched the championship after defeating Kohima district 1–0 in the final. The four-day tournament was held from February 10 to 13 at the local ground of Old Showuba village in Niuland district.

Speaking at the programme, Vesupra Kezo, NPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung, and President of the MDVFA, said the championship was dedicated to the people of Mokokchung. He expressed gratitude to the team manager, donors and players for their collective efforts in achieving the title.

Kezo also acknowledged the contribution of the 35+ MFL, noting that more than 80 per cent of the Mokokchung team members who participated in the tournament were from the league. He added that the victory carries a responsibility to continue guiding, inspiring and striving for better performances in the future.

As part of the programme, the 35+ MFL presented a token of appreciation to the President of the MDVFA. The Mokokchung District Veteran Football Association also conveyed its congratulatory message to the champion team.

Earlier, the champions were accorded a welcome by the 35+ MFL at Alichen, Mokokchung district.
