35th Zunheboto Area Sports Association (Kükami Trophy) culminates

Zunheboto: Lizu Old Sports Association lifted the trophy in football while Yezami Sports Association was winner in volleyball

The 35th Zunheboto Area Sports Association (Kükami Trophy) culminated on Monday at the Zunheboto District Sports Council Ground with Khehoshe Yepthomi, president of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Zunheboto Region, as the guest of honour.

Earlier, the sports meet had begun on 9 January with Kivikhu Achumi, Rtd Director, Department of Agriculture, Government of Nagaland, as the chief guest.

The motto of ZASA Kükami Trophy was ‘Friendship through Sports’.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Khehoshe Yepthomi expressed his delight to witness growth in people of Zunheboto saying that he has always been proud to call himself a citizen of Zunheboto wherever he goes.

He said the past leaders should appreciate and acknowledge the works of the present leaders and cooperate for the betterment of the headquarter.

In football, the final match was played between Lizu Old Sports Association and Natha New Sports Association and the former was declared the 35th ZASA winner.

Vinoka K Rotokha, with his ten goals, was awarded highest scorer of the trophy.

In the volleyball finals, Yezami Sports Association beat Kawoto Sports Association.
