The Alumni Association of Akuluto Govt High School (AAAGHS) organised a Free Medical Camp at Primary Health Centre (PHC), Akuluto under Zunheboto District on 19 November.

The free medical camp which started at 8am was coordinated and supported by the medical department headed by Dr K Vikato Kinny, Principal Director, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, also an alumnus of AAAGHS (batch of 1978).

There were altogether 21 doctors, officials and technicians from the directorate, doctors from District Hospitals of Zunheboto and Mokokchung who helped in the free medical camp.

The doctors in attendance were medicine specialist, gynaecologist, dentists, ENT specialist, orthopaedic, physiotherapist, psychologist, surgeon, anaesthetist, ophthalmology Asst & Audiologist who were supported by doctors & nurses of PHC, Akuluto.

Kazheto Kinimi, Advisor, NSDMA & CAWD also provided financial support for the medical camp. Further, the Akuluto Range Students’ Union provided volunteers to help out with the registration of patients and to provide guidance.

An overwhelming response was witnessed during the medical camp as 369 people from Akuloto area and the surrounding villages availed free medical check-ups.

The current alumni office bearers are: Er Kavito Chishi, President; Prof Akali Sema, Secretary, Khevuto Chopi, Treasurer; Toky Chishi, Information Secretary and Nitovi Ayemi, Toniho Chopi and Khenito Chishi as members.

The AAAGHS extended their gratitude to the medical fraternity without whose help and support the medical camp would not have been possible.
