The 3rd Edition of the Women’s Champions Trophy continued with exhilarating cricket action on May 16 at two venues, bringing excitement and competitive spirit to the forefront, stated a press release.

Nagaland Cricket Stadium

In a closely contested match between Tizu Warriors  vs Dikhu Strikers held at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, the Tizu Warriors secured a win against the Dikhu Strikers by 16 runs. Player of the Match Elina Murru showcased her cricketing prowess, scoring an impressive 84 runs from 58 balls and a wicket. The Warriors posted a challenging total of 174 all out in 32.2 overs. Despite a valiant effort from Jyoti Thapa, who scored 81 runs and took 2 wickets, the Strikers fell short, scoring 158/7. Tsukhenshi’s effective bowling, taking 3 wickets for 47 runs, was pivotal in securing the win for the Warriors.

Sovima Cricket Ground

The action continued at Sovima Cricket Ground, where the Chathe Dazzlers triumphed over the Doyang Queens by 8 wickets. Najmeen Khatun, with an unbeaten 49 runs, led her team to a comfortable victory and was deservedly named Player of the Match. The Queens set a target of 122/9, with Watinaro Pongen top-scoring with 48 runs. The Dazzlers reached their target with ease, finishing at 123/2 in 24.4 overs, thanks in part to Lydia T Murru’s tight bowling, which conceded only 14 runs for 2 wickets.
