3rd Edition of Women’s Champions Trophy: Zungki Slingers wins match, 2nd match abandoned

On Day-3 of the 3rd Edition of the Women’s Champions Trophy, Zungki Slingers beat Tizu Warriors by 10 wickets at Sovima Cricket Ground on Friday while the match between Dhansiri Titans and Chathe Dazzlers at Nagaland Cricket Stadium was abandoned due to wet outfield.

The tournament is being organised by Nagaland Cricket Association.

The Zungki Slingers displayed remarkable skill and teamwork, securing a resounding victory over the Tizu Warriors. Priyanka Karmakar shone brightly, contributing significantly both with the bat and ball. She scored an unbeaten 30 runs and took 4 wickets for just 19 runs, rightfully earning the Player of the Match title.

The Slingers chased down the target without losing any wickets, finishing at 71/0 in just 14 overs. Illuneule also played well, scoring 19* runs. The Warriors were all out for 70 in 22.4 overs, struggling to build momentum against a dominant bowling attack.

The encounter between the Dhansiri Titans and Chathe Dazzlers was cut short due to a wet outfield, resulting in the match being abandoned. Before the halt, the Titans had posted 128/10, bolstered by a brilliant 74* from Alemienla. Najmeen was exceptional for the Dazzlers, claiming 4 wickets for 17 runs. The Dazzlers had reached 45/1 in 11 overs, with Vipeni Awomi at 13* when play was suspended.
