The 3rd Longleng District Inter-Departmental Tournament concludes on 10th April 2025, at indoor badminton stadium Longleng. The President Phom Peoples Council (PPC), Y.B. Angam Phom graced the closing event as the special guest.
The special guest In his address said sports is more than just game, it teaches us valuable life lessons like teamwork, discipline, and perseverance, and build physical & mental resilience. He acknowledge the participants for the wonderful spirit of teamwork, Sportsmanship and healthy competitions, where one must remember that wining is not everything, but the joy of participation, thrill of competition and the camaraderie of teamwork is what truly matters.
He extended his appreciation to all the participants, organizers and volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this event successful, the dedication enthusiasm and commitment in promoting sports and physical activity is truly commendable. He said such events are a great opportunity for government employees, knowing each other which will foster better work culture and coordination among the departments and promote healthy and active lifestyle. It will also bring a positive impact paving within the departments in future, he added.
Angam also acknowledge and appreciate the DC, who is always keen to help and make things possible, relentlessly connecting with all HoDs in times of need, asserting that under his leadership this event ends with great success. Congratulating the winners and the participants, he said it’s not about winning or losing, it’s about showing up and doing the best and enjoying every moment and making this sporting event a memorable one to remember.
Altogether, forty Departments participated in the tournament. The overall champion of the 3rd Inter-Departmental Tournament 2025 was bagged by the 12th NAP IR BN. Chingtok while School Education Department secured second.
Short speech on behalf of organising committee was delivered by EE, PWD Longleng, Er. S.B. Angh and a special presentation was made by the students of St. Joseph High School Longleng.
Vote of thanks was purposed by DLRSO Longleng, Imtiyanger Imsong and the programme was chaired by Forest Ranger Longleng, Chepeu Koza, While Pastor Police Baptist Church, Chingthai Phom, pronounced the benediction.

Results of the Tournament:-
Man’s Badminton double was bagged by 12th NAP IR Chongtok and School Education Department respectively, while in the mixed double the School Education and Bautung Higher Secondary School secured first and second respectively.
In Table Tennis man single, the Department of Forest & Climate Change bagged the first, while Agriculture Department secured second position. In the Table Tennis women single, DEF Longleng bagged the first, while School Education Department secured second position.
Man’s Carrom board double, the 12th NAP IR and Sub-Treasury Longleng secured first and second respectively. In Women’s Carrom board doubl, DEF Longleng bagged the first and District Administration secured second.
In the Man’s penalty shootout, 12th NAP, IR bagged the first and School Education Department bagged the second position. In Women’s penalty shootout, School Education Department and District Administration bagged first and second position respectively.
In Air rifle shooting man, PHED bagged the first while Youth Resource & Sports secured second position. Bautung Higher Secondary School and Medical Department secured first and second position in Air rifle shooting (women).
