The 3rd Open T20 Cricket Tournament organised by Trojans XX Club began on Thursday at Public Ground, Zunheboto.
During the inaugural programme, Hekato Yepthomi, president of Trojans XX Club, conveyed his sincere gratitude to the special guest K T Sukhalu for his grand presence in the tournament and for always being there for his people.
K T Sukhalu, IAS (Retd), Advisor School Education and SCERT, was the special guest. In his speech, he said he has been trying to encourage young people all over the state.
Today the government employment has reached its saturation point, Sukhalu pointed out. Stating that the list of government employed people is more than one lakh forty thousand, he said it would be a challenge to accommodate all the young people, students and upcoming children. The advisor stressed on the need for entrepreneurs and good sportspersons in the state.
He shared his observation on sports players in Nagaland, stating that although talent is present, the discipline is poor. He emphasised on the importance of encouraging young players under 16 so that they can be nurtured and also said through this type of tournament, players can influence other people too.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Puloto T Awomi. The invocation was pronounced by Kughalu Chishi, home evangelist of ZTSBC. A welcome song was presented by Sun Beam School Zunheboto. Oath taking was done by Toka Swu following which the special guest declared the tournament open.
