The Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) for 400 National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets of Nagaland State started at Wokha on October 17 at the Assam Rifles Garrison, Wokha. The important annual training activity is being conducted by 1 Nagaland Battalion NCC of Kohima Group, informed a press release by PRO & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, Manipur, Nagaland, and Southern Arunachal Pradesh.
During the camp, the cadets will undergo training as per curriculum and NCC Manuals in Physical Training, Drill, Field Craft, Weapon Training, live firing, etc.
Addressing the cadets on the opening day, the cadets were briefed on the various facets of leadership, character development, regimental life and life skills that will be imparted during the camp.

Besides the scheduled training, various Nagaland state departments will be conducting lectures, training and awareness programmes on Disaster Relief, Higher Education, Start-Ups, Govt Employment Generation Schemes and Basic Healthcare. Cadets will also get a unique opportunity to take part in the first-ever “Banana Festival” being conducted at Wokha during this period.
For most cadets, the CATC is their first exposure to community living and training in a quasi-military setting providing an excellent opportunity to grasp the essentials of NCC training and live a life with Unity and Discipline, in Line the motto of NCC. The CATC will conclude on October 26.
