43rd AKTM General Conference concludes

The 43rd Asetkong Kaketshir Telongjem Mungdang (AKTM) General Conference, which began on 10 Januaryin Mopungchuket village, Mokokchung, came to a conclusion on 12 January.

Three sessions were held on the third and final day of the conference.

The first session witnessed the display of ‘Sobaliba Ken-O Shiji’ (traditional folk songs, play and folklores) by the various units.

Meyo was presented by SSU, Jilushi by Longjang Kaketshir Telongjem, Nüknarar Rongjen by KKT, Nülaksü by Chami Kaketshir Telongjem, Yartsüngsang by Longpa Kaketshir Telongjem and Arjü Otsü by MALT.

The second session was the closing programme, during which various reports were delivered from the different members and committees of the AKTM. New office bearers for 2023–26 were also elected during this session.

They are: President – Kajenkaba of Sungratsu village; Vice-President – Yarsen Jamir of Mopungchuket village; General Secretary – Aotsunger of Longjang village; Asst General Secretary – Opangkokla Aier of Longpa village.

The results for the competitions on various cultural events held the previous day at Süngko Tenem, Mopungchuket were also declared.

The conference ended with a session of music and entertainment – ‘Ayimjem’ – presented by various musicians in the evening.
