May 22, 2024 marked a significant milestone for Nagaland University, on account of acquisition of patent in its name for the first time in the institution’s journey towards innovation and research excellence.

The university, under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Jagadish K. Patnaik, has made remarkable strides in the field of intellectual property, with an impressive total of around 45 patents already published and 2 patents granted for its faculty in the last year alone, informed a press release by Nagaland University.

“The importance of securing patents for Nagaland University cannot be overstated. Patents not only recognize the originality and ingenuity of the university’s research endeavors but also serve as a testament to its commitment to contributing valuable insights to various fields of study,” stated the press release.
