The inauguration program for the 2nd Peren District Inter-Village Volleyball Tournament was at Mhainamtsi Local Ground, Jalukie on Wednesday. According to DIPR, 47 teams, including 30 men’s teams and 17 women’s teams will compete for the top honour in the tournament organised by the Peren District Volleyball Association. The event will conclude on 4th November 2023.

The Special Guest of the inaugural program was Azeu Namcyn Hau, Officer on Special Duty to Deputy Chief Minister of Planning and Transformation, National Highway, Government of Nagaland. In his address, Hau highlighted the significance of sports and emphasized the spirit of single-minded determination required for victory. He stressed the importance of fair play and encouraged the participating teams, especially the youth, to build new connections and foster friendships among each other.

Additionally, Hau motivated the teams to actively contribute to the promotion of sports and to compete at various levels, starting from district and state levels, and progressing to national and even international levels.

Adun Malangmai served as the moderator for the inaugural event of the 2nd Peren District Inter-Village Volleyball Tournament and Kenlumyile delighted the gathered with a song presentation.
