49th installation ceremony of Rotary Club Mokokchung held

The 49th Installation Ceremony of Rotary Club Mokokchung was held today at ECO Camp, Longkong, with Asola Ozukum, Vice President of Watsü Mungdang, as the Special Guest.

Asola Ozukum in her address said it’s my pleasure to be here amongst you all to celebrate the newly elected president and Secretary installation program. A big congratulations to both of you and wishing you both success and may you lead the Rotary club of Mkg to great heights during your tenure.

Ozükum stated Rotary club brings together people across generations who wishes to create lasting changes in the world, in their communities and in themselves.Rotary and rotaract members around the world strengthens their connection to friends, neighbours taking action through service.

Today around the world 1.9 million rotarians are providing service to others, promoting integrity, good will and advancing the world through fellowship of business, professional and community leaders in order to provide humanitarian services. Encouraging high ethical standards in all vocations and to advance goodwill and peace around the world.

She said Today in the remotest corner of the world the rotary club of Mkg is doing a great job promoting humanity and I salute each and everyone of you. Your love and compassion to humanity is indeed commendable. As Rabindranath Tagore said “ I will never allow patriotism to triumph over humanity as long as I live”. She said The sole meaning of our existence is to serve humanity. Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries and without them humanity cannot survive. Today I urge the Rotary club of Mokokchung to continue to spread love as without it humanity cannot survive.

In an heartfelt acceptance speech, Rongsentoshi Jamir expressed his gratitude and vision as he stepped into his new role as President of RCCP for the upcoming year. Reflecting on the journey ahead, he acknowledged the support of his family and the confidence placed in him by the board.

“I’ve been having some sleepless nights wondering what words to say, and finally, the day arrives, and I am standing in front of you delivering my views and most importantly, my acceptance,” Jamir began. He highlighted the role of his family, stating, “Each of them has and will be playing a very significant role in my RCCP life, and especially my presence here could not have happened without their backing.”

Expressing gratitude to the board, Jamir said, “I would also like to extend my gratitude to the eminent board for having chosen me or probably, let’s put it this way, for having cornered me as ‘THE ONE’ who believed in me to head the team.”

Jamir emphasized the collective effort required for success, noting, “Friends, it is an absolute honor and privilege to stand before you on this graceful occasion and utter the most awaited words, ‘Yes, I accept to be the President for the year.’ But a single head achieves nothing, so I am counting on your support to achieve the growth and goals I have dreamt for the club.”

He Invoked an inspiring quote, “Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers; pray for powers equal to your tasks,” to underscore the challenges and opportunities ahead. Looking to the future, Jamir shared his aspirations, “At the end of the year, it is my dream and prayer that we will have transformed these possibilities and opportunities into stories of success and triumph.”

Concluding his speech, Jamir expressed his commitment to the role and appreciation for the support, saying, “I accept this appointment with pride and will give my best efforts to make you proud to have selected me. With the grace of God and the cooperation of fellow members, I will devote my time and myself to the obligations and duties of this post.”

In her welcome address and President’s Address, President of RC Mokokchung, Tiarenla Jamir, reflected on her tenure, expressing gratitude and hope for the future. She shared her journey, noting, “When I was first inducted, it was a whole new venture and today I have explored many and learned various experiences after serving my third term as the President. It has been a selfless service throughout the year.”

Jamir thanked past Presidents and Secretaries attending the program, which was held outdoors for the first time, saying, “Under their leadership, the Rotary Club was uplifted. They encouraged us in various ways to lead and serve the Club.”

Reflecting on nearly a decade of progress, she said, “After nearly 10 years, it has changed for the better. I have noticed significant improvements and it has been a great experience.”

She gave special thanks to Secretary Allen Mark LKR, describing him as her “pillar of success,” acknowledging his dedication, selfless service, and support.

Encouraging greater female participation, Jamir stated, “I encouraged all ‘Rotary Anns’ to join the Rotary Club so that we can bring change together. We have a majority of male members, and I encouraged the women present to join and make a positive difference.

Jamir highlighted the club’s achievements and acknowledged its limitations, stating, “Our club has achieved success that has impressed many. We should continue this spirit and let others know about our good work to encourage each other and contribute to good deeds.” She also urged members to pay dues on time for further development.

Looking to the future, Jamir expressed optimism for the incoming President, saying, “I look forward to the incoming President and the changes and developments ahead. I wish the new team great success and encourage them to ask for guidance and support whenever needed.”

Allen Mark LKR, Secretary of RC Mokokchung, presented the Club Report, highlighting key initiatives and various achievements of the club.

The Installation Ceremony was conducted by I Temsu Jamir, Vice President of the Rotary Club while Secretary-elect Imlitemsu Jamir delivered the vote of thanks.The program commenced with the singing of the National Anthem.

Rotary Club Mokokchung is set to celebrate its Golden Jubilee in 2027.
