The 4th edition of the Brillante Piano Festival Nagaland drew to a close on October 1 following its three day festival held at Capital Cultural Hall, Kohima.

Gracing the grand finale, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio once again committed the Nagaland Government to support the youth at all times and encouraged the music fraternity to grow and make Nagaland the “Land of music”. Rio lauded the Specially Abled Musician (SAM) programme which highlighted the talents and courage of musicians with disabilities and praised the efforts and spirit of the special needs musicians.

Further, acknowledging the organising committee for providing musicians a platform like the Brillante Piano Festival, Rio said, “It has not only impacted the musicians within the State but touched the musicians all over the country and beyond that.”

Reflecting on the pool of talent that Nagas possess, Rio recalled his first tenure in the Government where they had declared it as ‘Year of Youth Empowerment’. These initiatives, according to Rio, gave birth to the Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA), which has grown over the years and bringing Nagaland into the map.

Rio also paid homage to Khyochano TCK, Founder and Director of Brillante for her commitment and dedication in taking the vision of music ahead and making Brillante a hub for piano enthusiasts by providing a platform for all and encouraging the next generation of pianists and musicians.

At the closing, Khyochano TCK, Director of Brillante, shared that the strength of Brillante was laid by the dedicated musicians and like minded people who were a sort of Movement/community irrespective of barriers and had transformed music and musical experience.

TCK also noted that the team of 15 were “catalysts of change and initiative of new path ways where Specially Abled Musician (SAM) was the driving force of the program.”

The grand finale also included performances by Nise Meruno, Kekhrie Ringa, Joi Barua, Choir team of Hope Academy, Dr Adam J Greg, The Paddy Trio and was witnessed by a host of dignitaries including Ministers, bureaucrats as well as students and the public.
