4th Khensatsür Shisatokden Senden underway; panel discuses women’s role in education, society, polity, faith

The 4th edition of Khensatsür Shisatokden Senden (Khensa Women’s Seminar & Conference) commenced today at Khensa Baptist Church under the theme “Südem Akangshiro” (strengthening the bond that holds future generations).

Organised by the women ministry of Khensa Baptist Church, the three-day conference will be held from September 26 to 28. A total of 374 delegates from different units of Khensa village as well as from Mokokchung, Kohima, and Dimapur are attending the event.

As part of the programme, a panel discussion on the theme “Südem Akangshiro” was held with Bendangrenla as the moderator. Temjenmenla from Kohima spoke on “Loktiliba aser Kaket Shisatsü terenlok” (social and education development), Arenchila from Khensa delivered her talk on “Wainshin,” (social values and etiquettes), Sademmongla from Dimapur shared her talk on “Yimsüsübaren nung Tetsür Shilem” (role of women and polity) and A. Toshirenla from Mokokchung, spoke on “Tamangbaren” (framework of faith) followed by a question and answer session, allowing the audience to engage with the speakers and seek clarifications on the topics discussed.

The conference second day programme will feature an exhibition of various local produce from Khensa village. The exhibition will showcase Khensa women’s traditional attire and accessories, fresh flowers, locally grown vegetables and fruits, eateries, and handicrafts and more. It will be graced by Nikesono Kevichusa, Deputy Secretary, government of Nagaland, who will formally open the exhibition.

The core purpose of the conference is to bring together the women of Khensa village, whether living locally or in other towns and cities, to foster meaningful dialogue. It aims to promote mutual understanding, support, and encouragement, enabling all participants to become more inclusive, united, and confident as they engage with the wider world.
