53rd Tingkum Mbau cum 12 Triennial Conference concludes

The 53rd Tingkum Mbau cum 12 Triennial Conference was held on 14–16 January in Peren town.

The 53rd Tingkum Mbau cum 12 Triennial Conference organised by the Zeme Baptist Church Council Youth Department (ZBCCYD) concluded on 16 January in Peren town.

The three-day conference which had begun on 14 January was held under the theme ‘Sap Ntip Lu (stand strong)’.

Hosted by Tesen Baptist Church, a total number of 53 churches out of the 69 churches under the ZBCC participated in the conference. A headcount of 1,100 delegates excluding those from the host town, were present at the three-day event.

The conference featured various competitions and activities for the attendees.

In the Bible recitation competition, Ndunglwa Baptist Church bagged the first prize with Tesen Baptist Church and Peren Baptist Church winning the second and third prizes respectively.

In the cultural dance competition, Beisampui Youth Department came in first followed by Peren Youth Department in second place and Tesen Youth Department in third.

A mobile movie compilation competition was also held on the theme ‘Clean Election’. The first prize went to New Tesen Baptist Church while the second prize went to Lamhaidunki Baptist Church and third to Jalukie Baptist Church.

On the second day, the speaker for the Sunday morning service was Rev Dr Mongzeung Mpom, pastor of Jalukie Baptist Church.

He spoke on how one should discover one’s talent and discover the gifts that God has given everyone. He also spoke on how the youths should be an agent of change. He emphasised on how one should sharpen and refine one’s gifts.

“Success is not getting money alone but the fulfilment of God’s gifts,” Rev Mpom quoted.

During the Sunday morning service, the Youth Excellence Award, which had been started by the ZBCCYD in 2016, was presented to different individuals in three categories.

Diheiraibe Ndang, son of Iherie Ndang, first super specialist in cardiology among the Zeliangs and second in Nagaland.

Peihauding Reunim, founder of Ngurie-organic fertilizer; and Ididaule, Youngest Asia Diamond Director in Oriflame.

Fine Arts, Music and Sports Award

Haileuyibe Irrangau, football coach at Hope Academy, Dimapur; played league 2nd div and represented Nagaland in the current Santosh Trophy.

The felicitation awards for successful NPSC candidates of 2022 were also presented during the Sunday morning service hour.

In the evening, after a time of worship, a bonfire gathering was organised where all the delegates sat together and sang songs, and an entertainment programme was held.

The following day, on 16 January, a service was held in the morning hours followed by lunch. The conference then came to a conclusion and all the delegates left for their respective homes.
