As fresh are being conducted today in eleven polling stations in Manipur following confirmed events of violence, booth capturing, intimidation, destruction to EVMs, etc on 19th April, electorates have reportedly come out in good numbers recording 55.76% voter percentage.

AIR News Imphal has reported that polling is taking place under very strict security arrangements in all eleven polling stations.

All eleven polling stations are under Inner Imphal Parliamentary Constituency where 6 candidates contesting the seat – Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam (INC), Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh (BJP), Maheshwar Thounaojam (RPI-Athawale), Moirangthem Totomshana Nongshaba (IND), Rajkumar Somendro Singh (IND) and Haorungbam Sarat Singh (IND).

The Congress party had earlier filed a complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur on 20th April 2024 demanding fresh poll in 36 polling stations in Inner Manipur PC and 11 polling stations in Outer Manipur Constituency.
