Rio Memorial Men’s U19 Inter-District Cricket Tournament 2025 with a hard-fought 3-wicket win over Wokha in the semi-final held at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Chümoukedima. A disciplined bowling effort followed by a composed chase ensured Kohima’s progression to the tournament’s grand finale, informed a press release by the Nagaland Cricket Association (NSA) media.

1st Innings – Wokha: 106/10 in 30.1 Overs
Wokha, opting to bat first, found it difficult to build partnerships and were bowled out for 106 runs in 30.1 overs. Yantsothung S Humtsoe provided a brief spark with 28 runs off 28 balls, but the rest of the lineup failed to contribute meaningfully.
Kohima’s bowlers maintained tight lines throughout the innings. Solomon Awungshi delivered a brilliant spell, picking up 3 wickets for 19 runs in 8 overs, while Vizoletuo Zhale was equally effective, claiming 3/21 in 6.1 overs to wrap up the innings.
2nd Innings – Kohima: 110/7 in 22.0 Overs
In response, Kohima’s chase wasn’t without hiccups as Wokha’s bowlers struck early and regularly, making the contest competitive. However, Seyievizo Zaputou anchored the innings with a calm and unbeaten 32 off 56 balls, guiding Kohima across the line in 22 overs with three wickets in hand.
Wokha’s Krishna Kumar was the standout bowler for his side, returning 3/24 in 10 overs, making it a closely fought semi-final.

Dimapur secured their place in the final of the 5th Late G. Rio Memorial Men’s U19 Inter-District Cricket Tournament 2025 with a convincing 6-wicket victory over Niuland in the second semi-final held at the Sovima Cricket Ground, Chümoukedima.
1st Innings – Niuland: 112/10 in 41.3 Overs
Niuland, after being asked to bat first, struggled to gain momentum and were restricted to 112 runs in 41.3 overs. Jeetender top-scored with a patient 32 off 85 balls, but regular wickets disrupted the innings.
Dimapur’s bowlers kept things tight and effective. Samir Ali continued his impressive tournament form, taking 4 wickets for 14 runs in 7.3 overs, while Medempok Pongen delivered an economical and clinical spell, finishing with 3/15 in 9 overs.
2nd Innings – Dimapur: 114/4 in 35.4 Overs
In reply, Dimapur chased down the target steadily, reaching 114/4 in 35.4 overs. Shyerinlo anchored the innings with a composed 32 off 68 balls, guiding his team safely across the line.
Niuland’s bowling attack showed resilience, with wickets shared among Rohan Kumar (1/8), Suit Kumar (1/21), Jatin (1/24), and Darsh Choudhary (1/25), but the total proved too modest to defend.
