Deputy Commissioner Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS graced the inaugural programme of the 5th Mon International Trade Fair & Expo 2024, as the Guest of Honour on 11th December 2024 at Local Ground Mon.

In his speech, the DC while thanking all the Stakeholders, Partners, Singers, Actors, Viewers for participating and organising this event as Mon being a remote area, He said in spite of many challenges and difficulties, Mon International Trade Fair & Expo has been organising consecutively for 5 (five) years.

Verma highlighted significance of such events being multilateral, where it provides the local entrepreneur an opportunity to expose their products and at the same time learn new things from the outsiders. He appealed to the local people to interact and share with the outsiders to get more ideas. He added that interacting for 10 to 15 days as a small village contributes to social changes. The DC also spoke about the gradual development and hope that this legacy will carry forward in the coming days as well. Later he inaugurated and inspected the stalls.

Short Speeches were also delivered by Bandang Wati, SDPO, Manpang, representative of Konyak Union and Tingshim Wangnao, Treasurer, all Wards of Mon. The programme was chaired by Er. Mhao Humtsoe, EAC Mon and welcome address was delivered by L Samuel Konyak, SDO (C) Mon, while a special number was presented by Chahwang Konyak and Team Loyal.
