Chümoukedima: DC Chumoukedima urges commuters to take extreme precautions

A team of the Chumoukedima District Administration led by Deputy Commissioner, Polen John conducted an on-site inspection of the landslide affected area at Pherima Village, under Medziphema Sub Division today. The DC was accompanied by ADC Chumoukedima, Kuzonyi Wideo; ADC Medziphema James Swu along with EAC and DBs and Police personnel.

The team informed that the six persons who lost their lives were: Kriesangulie (M), Samir Dutta (M), Sonhie (F), Daju (M), Bijay (M) and Sopon Biswas (M).

It also said that three rice hotels were destroyed while five Trucks, eleven Light Motor Vehicles and one two-wheeler were damaged by the landslide.

A total of 15 SDRF personnel were deployed for the rescue operation. The DDMA Chumoukedima, District Administration, DEF Chumoukedima, Traffic Police Chumoukedima, Village council, Churches, Youth and VDMA of Pherima Village also took part in the search and rescue operation and recovered the missing corpse.

Meanwhile, the DC Chumoukedima also has also issued travel advisory notice to take extreme precautions and to take alternative routes.
