Kohima: Governor acknowledges ‘unwavering spirit and determination’ of State’s forebearers

Addressing the citizens of Nagaland on the eve of the 62nd Statehood Day, Governor La Ganesan noted the remarkable achievements in various fields, however, he also pointed that the State must acknowledge the various areas that needs focused attention including economic development and infrastructure growth. The Governor called for intensified efforts to boost sustainable growth that would provide opportunities to all.

“We must work collectively to improve healthcare, connectivity infrastructure, preserve our environment and ensure that every Naga enjoys a decent quality of life,” the Governor stated in his address on 30th November 2024.

Extending his greetings on the occasion, the Governor also paid tributes to the “unwavering spirit and determination” of the State’s forebearers who “worked tirelessly to carve out a unique identity for Nagaland in the vast tapestry of India.”

Further, he stressed that the citizens must recognize that the hard-earned peace in the State is a “precious gift” and preserve it with “utmost care and responsibility.” Our shared goal should be to continue building a society based on mutual respect, understanding and unity, the Governor added.

Stating that the vibrant festivals and rich cultural expressions stand as testament of unity and diversity, the Governor emphasized on a Nagaland that is strong in industry, education and innovation and reassured his commitment “to supporting initiatives that uplist our state and its people.”
