The sixth session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly was adjourned by the Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Sharingain Longkumer on 8th March 2025.
Sharingain Longkumer sharing his view on the budget said that the budget presented for 2025-26 is one of the most holistic budgets presented and it signifies a resurgent Nagaland and a transformed Nagaland in the coming days with all the challenges.
Longkumer also extends his sincere gratitude to all the members for their cooperation in maintaining the decorum, the sanctity of the House, and efficiency of our proceedings. He hopes that the members will continue to uphold this commendable tradition of constructive engagement in the future.
He also extended his sincere appreciation to the Chief Secretary and his team of officials, the Director General of Police, the Armed Forces, the Parliamentary Forces, for their invaluable assistance in ensuring the smooth conduct of the House proceedings.
The Speaker also expressed appreciation to the media fraternity for their role in decimating the proceedings of the House to their people.
He adjourned the sixth session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly Sine Die.
Earlier in the day, Longkumer announced the constitution of various financial and non-financial committees of the Assembly for 2025-2026. The Speaker said that the two newly created committees namely Committee on Urban Local Bodies and Nagaland Village Council was necessitated to emanate only the fundamental essence of Article 371A.
The Uniqueness of our Social Fabric and the Continuous Effort of the Honourable Members of this House to take governance toward people necessitated the emergent requirement of the formation of these two committees.
