Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, Temsuwati Longkumar, NCS today appreciated the departments for making strong progress and encouraged those which are still lagging behind.
“It is not easy to be selected as an aspirational district but we were selected because there are areas where we are still lagging behind and in some areas we have improved,” the Deputy Commissioner said during the programme for Sampoornata Abhiyan Samman Samaroh at Kiphire.
He reminded everyone that change takes time. “What we see today is not a sudden shift but a gradual transformation over the past few years. We still have a long way to go, but we’ve come a long way too,” he said.
Longkumer thanked both the Central and State governments for their constant support and praised the hard work of officers, especially those working on the ground. “Despite all our challenges, our teams have given their best. Today is a day to celebrate that,” he added.
He also spoke about the meaning of the Sampoornata Abhiyan, a government campaign that aims to ensure every citizen receives the benefits they are entitled to. “This is not just a formal gathering,” he said, “but a moment to reflect on how far Kiphire has come — and how much further we can go.”
The word Sampoornata, he explained, stands for completeness reaching every person, in every corner, no matter how remote. “This mission is a call from the Government of India to leave no one behind not a child, not a farmer, not a mother, not an elder,” he said.

“Kiphire has shown that geography does not define our future,” the DC added. “Even with limited resources and difficult terrain, we are proving that progress is possible.”
He praised the role of officers, teachers, ASHAs, BPMs, and all field workers, calling them the real changemakers. “You are not just doing a job you are building lives. You are the hope that connects the government to the people.”
Looking to the future, the DC encouraged the district to aim higher. “Kiphire must go from being aspirational to becoming inspirational,” he said. “Let’s dream of a Kiphire where every child goes to school, every woman has access to clean water and safe childbirth, and no farmer or artisan is left out.”
He also announced the upcoming launch of the Akanksha Hut at the Kiphire Town Council Market Complex. “This is more than a market stall it is a platform for our people’s dreams and aspirations.”
The program was lead by Takatemjen Pongen NCS, EAC HQ and Nodal officer ADP/ABP, which was followed by launch of Aaakanksha Haat at Kiphire Town council Market complex.
