The 79th General Conference of the Chakhesang Students Union (CSU) would be held from February 3–5, 2026, at the Local Ground, Zuketsa, on the theme “Nurturing identity through knowledge and culture.” The conference is being hosted by the Zuketsa Students Union (ZSU).
The conference guests include Neiba Kronu, former Minister, Government of Nagaland, as the Introductory Guest; TR Zeliang, Deputy Chief Minister in charge of Planning and Transformation and National Highways, Government of Nagaland, as the Inaugural Guest; Kudecho Khamo, Advisor for CAWD and Taxes, Government of Nagaland, as the Guest of Honour; L Dikho, MLA, 48th Mao Assembly Constituency, Government of Manipur, as the Cultural Guest; and Zhothisa Dawhuo, Secretary, Women Resources Development, Government of Nagaland, as the Valedictory Guest.
Meanwhile, Dr Neisatuo Mero, MLA, 16th Pfutsero Assembly Constituency (AC), Government of Nagaland, will be the Special Guest of the 67th Zuketsa Students Union (ZSU).
The programme dignitaries include panelists Lt Col (Retd.) Neipfupe (Ape) Venuh, Member, Collective Leadership, NSCN/GPRN; Alezo Venuh, Ato Kilonser, GPRN/NSCN (U); and Acüyi Vadeo, Joint Secretary, NNC. Dr Neingulo Krome, Secretary General, NPMHR, will be the moderator for the discussion on Indo-Naga Political Talks: The Vision and Its Prospects.
Neichute Doulo, CEO, Entrepreneurs Associates, and Vekhohu Puro, EAC, Peren Headquarters, will be the resource persons for the seminar on Entrepreneurship and Competitive Exams, respectively.
The Lt Goyiepra Kenye Meritorious Award will also be conferred upon meritorious students during the conference.
The panel of judges for the Folk Song (Quartet) Competition – Lt Niesatsü Khamo Memorial Trophy – and the Folk Dance Competition – Lt Zekope Krome Memorial Trophy – will include Kedoutsolhi Wetsah, President, Chakhesang Cultural Organization (CCO); Vethikhoyi Khamo, General Secretary, CCO; and Ngopi Movi, Assistant Surveyor, PWD, Government of Nagaland.

Greetings would be delivered in different sessions by Gihuka Zhimo, President, All Sumi Students Union (SKK); Mteisuding Heraang, President, Naga Students’ Federation (NSF); Pfokrehrii Matekho Pekosii, President, Mao Students Union (MSU); and Rongley Leyri, President, Pochury Students Union (PSU). Donald V. Thabah, General Secretary, Khasi Students Union (KSU), will deliver the solidarity message. Vezuhu Keyho, President, Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO), will also exhort the gathering during the inaugural session.
The sessions would be compered by Lhicheü Khutsoh, Peweu Tunyi Khamo, Kelulu Dawhuo, and Neikulo Chirie.
A new CSU team would also be installed at the end of the conference. The nomination committee comprises Neikhrolo Khalo as Convenor; Vevotso Medeo as Member Secretary; and Vesavolu R Soho, Seve R Vadeo, and Ngapunyi Albert Krocha as members.
The 79th General Conference is being organized under the Central Organizing Committee (COC) headed by Kuzhovesa Soho as Convenor; Medovi Rhi as Co-Convenor; and Ngosayi Sakhamo, Vekhoto Tetseo, Shevohu Nienu, Wepete Mero, Lavoto Chizo, Chikhohu Rhakho, Veukukholu Swuro, Asalu Veswuh, Weprede Kenye, and Wepre W. Wetsah as members, with CSU President Pfhulo Sarah as Ex-Officio and Kuzoto Swuro as Member Secretary.
The organising committee has informed all delegates to arrive at the conference venue on February 3, 2026, by 12 noon for registration. The affiliated and subordinate units have also been informed to bring their respective flags measuring 3×5 feet.
