The Act of Kindness Society, in partnership with Artsy Naga School of Fine Arts, held the 9th edition of the Magnum Opus, Art and Music Festival at ANSoFA on October 25 and 26, 2024.
The festival began with art demonstrations and workshops on the first day led by Mughaka Swu and Ritsanok Longchar, focusing on sculpting and painting, respectively.
Thang Paite, Lipokmanen Longkumer and Ritsanok Longchar led the 2 days Art Demonstration.
On the second day, a painting competition was held with around 70 participants from Dimapur and Chumoukedima district competing across three categories- junior, sub-junior, and open category. The competition was judged by Aku Zeliang, Creative Director of Heirloom Naga Centre and Cane Concept and founder of Urra Design & Objects; Moaso Aier, an artist and museologist; and Limasangwa Aonok, an artist from SASRD Nagaland University.

Winners of the Painting Competition:
In the Sub-Junior Category (13 years and below), the first prize of ₹4,000 was awarded to Ethan Pongen, with Temjenkokla as runner-up, receiving ₹2,000. Consolation prizes were given to Lizake Yeptho, Leah, Manya Tomtoklym, Shradha, and Vinani B. Zhimo.
For the Junior Category (ages 14-18), Etoka claimed the winner’s prize of ₹10,000, while Nutele Khesoh was runner-up with ₹6,000. Consolation prize recipients included Tinoto, Nito Swu, Zaara Abdul, Sarah Singh, and Esha Caroline.
In the Open Category, Rahul Alam won first prize with ₹15,000, followed by Bishw Deb as runner-up, receiving ₹10,000.
