The Annual Sports Week of MGM College, Dimapur, was held from February 10 to 13 with vibrant participation and an inspiring display of sportsmanship by students and staff alike. The week-long celebration aimed to foster teamwork, discipline, physical fitness, and a healthy competitive spirit among the students.
The Sports Week commenced on February 10 with indoor games conducted at the college campus, setting an energetic tone for the days ahead. The inaugural ceremony was held on February 11 at the
DDSC Stadium, marking the formal beginning of the outdoor events. The programme was officially inaugurated by Fr Giju George, who encouraged the students to actively participate in sports while upholding the true spirit of healthy competition and fair play.
From February 11 to 13, a wide range of outdoor sporting events were conducted, including track and field competitions such as 100m and 200m races, relay races, long jump, high jump, shot put, along with team events like tug of war, volleyball, and football. Students exhibited remarkable energy, discipline, resilience, and camaraderie throughout the competitions, making each event highly engaging and competitive. The House Captains and Sports Committee members played a pivotal role in the efficient conduct of events, while the Student Council and volunteers ensured smooth coordination and management.

The programme culminated on February 13 with a closing ceremony and prize distribution.

Winners of both individual and team events were felicitated with medals and certificates in recognition of their achievements. The Overall Team Championship Trophy was awarded to Red House for their outstanding and consistent performance throughout the week.
In his closing address, Temjen Longkumer congratulated all the participants and emphasized the vital role of sports in building character, leadership, teamwork, and perseverance among students. The event concluded with a prayer by the Administrator.
