A one-day awareness workshop on PM Vishwakarma Scheme organized by the MSME-DFO Dimapur in association with the District Industries Centre (DICs), Zunheboto was successfully conducted at Heritage Hall, Zunheboto on February 13 on the theme “Empowering Traditional Artisans and Craftspeople”.
The workshop aimed to create awareness about government schemes, enhance product design and branding skills, and strengthen financial literacy among local artisans and craftspeople.
General Manager, District Industries Centres (DICs) Zunheboto, Er N Toky Chishi in his keynote address highlighted the importance of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme in supporting traditional artisans.
Functional Manager, Kezhaletu Khuromo outlining the importance of MSME in the nation’s economy highlighted various programmes and schemes under MSME and Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP). Notable mention was made about the International Cooperation (IC) Scheme of the Ministry of MSME which aims to assists Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises in expanding globally by reimbursing costs for participating in international trade fairs, exhibitions, and buyer-seller meets. He also urged entrepreneurs present there to take advantage of various scheme provided by centre.
Founder of Musa Mix Zunheboto, Gloria Phuleshe conducted an insightful session on product design, while Area Coordinator, NSRLM RD, Gabriel discussed branding and marketing strategies for local products.

A presentation on the PM Vishwakarma Scheme was held in the afternoon, followed by a financial literacy session led by, Field Officer at SBI Main Branch, Ploketo Awomi who provided guidance on banking services and financial management for artisans.
The programme concluded with a feedback session and closing remarks by Er N Toky Chishi, who encouraged participants to utilise the knowledge gained to improve their livelihoods and preserve traditional craftsmanship.
The workshop witnessed active participation from artisans, craftspeople, and stakeholders, with a total of 120 attendees, reflecting a growing interest in skill development and sustainable economic opportunities in the district.
