The Chakhroma Public Organization Medziphema Circle has condemned the February 13 incident at Maova village, stating that the actions carried out by certain youths under the “supervision of the Village Council Chairman and Gaon Bura were completely unacceptable, disgraceful and contrary to all standards of decency and ethical conduct”.
It also condemned the injuries inflicted upon the EAC, Medziphema Sub-Division, and IRB Personnel who had arrived at the scene to pacify the situation and maintain peace.
In a condemnation note issued on February 18, the organisation highlighted the impact of such actions which only caused harm to the leaders but also undermined the core values of the community which are founded on mutual respect, unity and integrity.
